An Incredible Machine

Here are today's "Songs to Run To":
Sugarland, The Incredible Machine
Adele, Set Fire to the Rain
Pink, Just Like a Pill, ***in' Perfect (I listen to the edited version), Who Knew (lots of Pink today)
Glee cast, Sing

Proof that the body is an "Incredible Machine"- me, about to run a 5K, 19 weeks pregnant.

I got an Iphone for my birthday, which makes it amazingly easier and more convenient to update my music. Also, I now have the Nike + app :-) Runs are changing for me FOREVER!

I ran 4 miles using the Nike +. This is the first time I've had something telling me where I was in the run at all times. It was amazing. I am now addicted.

I just want to say one thing. Chafing. Ow. I'm still about 10 - 15 pounds over my goal weight, and I wore shorts today for the first time in a while. Well, my inner thighs rubbed together a little too much and now they are sore. Dang it.

Just as I was about to finish my run, the Sugarland song "The Incredible Machine" came on. It was perfect. It was one of those moments. Here are some of the lyrics:

"A heart that beats
An incredible machine
Made of blood and love
And hope and lust and steam..."

Well, I definitely like thinking of my body as an incredible machine. I feel it getting stronger every day, as I inch closer to 40... :-)

Here's the video, in case you haven't heard the song!

(Also, I think I may want to get Jennifer Nettles' haircut...)

A killer song can make *such* a difference! Also, I love my Nike+ and don't think I would have been running all winter/anywhere near as much without it!

Also, sending my runs to twitter/facebook hold me accountable - people will ask if they don't see one in my feed for a few days!
