Looking for a Flat, Indoor Half Marathon....

Today, we have a tornado watch. Schools are closing in preparation for bad weather. Winds are something like 45 mph. So, I decided to give myself a break and run on the indoor track. I didn't get to use my fancy Nike + (It doesn't work indoors), but I did have the old fashioned way:

One of my favorite things about this pic is that you can see my sweat.
That was my time for 15 laps, which, at 6.5 laps per mile, calculates (at least with my calculator) to 2.3 miles. I told myself I would just do 2, so I did a couple of extra laps and then stopped.

My time was amazingly better than it has been outside with the Nike+, and if I wasn't such a hardworking, goal-oriented person, I would be tempted to do every run ever for the rest of my life on the indoor track (see the title of this post).... however, I know that's no fun. So, this will be the exception, not the rule. After the half is done (April 30), I am going to do speedwork, and the track comes in handy for that. (Besides, if I only run indoors, I won't get to work on my sexy sock tan...)

So, you'll remember that I do these runs at lunch, then wipe off with a wet rag before putting my work clothes back on and becoming a librarian again... here's what I looked like after today's run:
Trying to showcase the sweat on my shirt. Notice I'm still wearing supercool fanny pack.
And then, I went to the scale and weighed again. Exactly the same. But I have a plan...

I have friends who have done the Shakeology 3 day cleanse and lost 3-7 pounds... I'm going to do it as soon as my next order arrives. I've got to break this plateau, but more importantly, I want to get my cravings for JUNK out of my system!

Anyone else enjoy running indoors more than outdoors? Ever run in tornadic wind? Was I just being a wuss about the whole thing?

Back when I was running (wish it was present tense *sigh*) there were times when indoors would have been nice. Maybe just keep mixing it up? It's probably really good for your joints to have the variety.

Ran in some crazy wind and rain this morning. Fortunately it was unusually warm, but I hate wind. Rain doesn't bother me, but wind is just a pain. However, I dislike running, biking, etc. indoors more than I hate the wind, so I usually just deal with it and grumble all the way.

Well, it's funny because today, the weather is so incredibly beautiful, that I almost feel like it would be a CRIME to run inside, so I'm about to head out for an unscheduled lunch time run..
